Introduction

This site is intended to be a template that University of Chicago language instructors (or anyone, really) can use as a basic structure for their language course sites. Please visit this page for information on how to copy this site for your course. This site was put together by Nick Swinehart in the UChicago Language Center; feel free to contact me at nswinehart@uchicago.edu.

The module-driven structure used here is just one of many ways one could organize a site; a pdf about organizing your site can be found here. The "Week 1" module contains many examples of pages, assignments, etc. to give you an idea of what a module could contain, while the other modules are empty. The "Canvas Features" module contains info on different features of Canvas, and the "Resources" module has external links to lots more information.

Navigation

The main way to access "course materials" for this example are by clicking the Modules link in the left navigation menu, or using the shortcuts below. Students could also click the Assignments link to see all the assignments or the Files link to see all the files (or I could hide this links). This redundancy could be good or bad, but I recommend letting students know the best way(s) to find content.
